About Us

The Palmer Elks Lodge sits just off North Barrys Resort Drive in Wasilla, and the lake view from the dining room deck alone is worth the stop. On a clear Alaska summer evening, the water stretches out past the railing while the smell of something good drifts off the grill. That's not an accident. This Lodge takes its events seriously, from the 4th of July cookouts that draw families onto the deck to the weekly Taco Tuesday that keeps regulars coming back and turns strangers into friends.

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 86 members and guests, the Lodge earns its reputation through consistency. The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks has stood behind veterans, community causes, and working families across America for over 150 years, and this chapter carries that tradition with real local weight. You'll find fellow travelers comparing notes at the bar, locals sharing tips on the best spots around the Mat-Su Valley, and a membership that genuinely looks out for one another.

What We Offer

The Lodge offers a full bar and dining room open to members and their guests, with a rotating menu of weekly specials anchored by the crowd-favorite Taco Tuesday. The deck seats guests with a direct view of the lake, making it one of the more scenic spots for a meal anywhere in the Wasilla area.

Beyond the food and drinks, the Lodge hosts community events throughout the year, including holiday cookouts and seasonal gatherings that bring the membership together. Private event space is available for members hosting celebrations, meetings, or fundraisers. The Lodge also supports charitable programs tied to the national Elks mission, including youth scholarships, veteran outreach, and local community grants that put money back into the Mat-Su Valley.

"Nice place. Not very friendly. Gal at the bar asked to see my membership card. Then ordered drinks and the bartender asked again to see my membership card again. Nobody welcomed us or informed us on dinner, just said you can cook your own steak for $18 and we think it comes with a potato. They don't know how to make a wiskey sour. Ordered a tall, got a regular. It is a beautiful setting, wished we camped there instead of Finger lake. campground. The Elks have about 20 sites with electric. The kids there were having a ball swimming."

"Nice location. You need to be a member to drink here and there is no kitchen. But it's a nice place."

What is Taco Tuesday and when does it happen?

Taco Tuesday is a weekly dining event at the Lodge that's become a local favorite. It draws a good mix of regulars, travelers, and newcomers. Check the Lodge's website at palmerelks.org for current times and any seasonal schedule changes.

Is the lake view accessible from the dining area?

What charitable work does this Lodge support?

The Palmer Elks Lodge participates in the national BPOE charitable mission, which includes veteran support programs, youth scholarships, and community grants. Local giving is a core part of what the Lodge does beyond its social events.

How do I become a member of the Elks?

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
